Lg. Boon Voon White Ghost Banana Tree (musa voon)

The island of Borneo, epicenter of Musa diversity, continues to surprise science with new species. This banana is named after renowned horticulturist Boon Hoe Voon. Musa voonii is a medium-sized plant with a slender densely clustering, reddish-purple pseudostem to about 10 feet tall. The inflorescence is held horizontally and produces shiny, deep reddish-purple bracts that are followed by small, pale fruits 4 to 5 inches long. Although seeded, the fruits are quite flavorful. This lowland species, it thrives in hot, humid environments. It would will a great ornamental.
