Variegated Orange Geiger Tree (sebestena cordia)

RARE VARIEGATED VARIETY. Spring and summer brings marvelous dark orange, 2-inch-wide flowers appearing in clusters at branch tips surrounded by leaves of green with white margins and splotches. The dazzling flowers are followed by one to 2-inch-long, pear-shaped edible, plain fruits, which have a pleasant fragrance. Reaching a maximum height of 25-30 feet at maturity, with a nearly equal spread, the crown is rounded, and branches tend to be somewhat cascading. Cultivated primarily for the showy flowers Geiger tree is fairly drought tolerant at maturity and an excellent tree for a roomy landscape.
